Lisabelle's Artist Statement

Hello and welcome to Art By Lisabelle.  I have over twenty-two years of portrait painting experience.  I welcome you to view my accomplishments in Oil, Pastel, Watercolor and Acrylic Portraits.  I have studied after the greats, i.e. John Singer Sergeant,  Rembrandt and Valesquez and more.  By reading, studying and practicing new techniques with every painting an endeavor, applying newly acquired knowledge to my artworks in an inspired way.  Every portrait is unique from it's inception to it's completion.  Every face and expression put to canvas, is internalized, then externalized through the mind and heart of this artist.  It's been noted that my works are emotive.  It seems my portrait paintings express genuine feelings. In a world where we can speak to anyone anywhere instantly, and the internet that keeps us globally connected every second, Art is more appreciated than ever.  Creative human portrayals are not out of fashion.  A personal relationship exists between the artist and the painted subject.  The portrait paintings you see here are directly connected to my feelings, perceptions, experience and years of dedicated painting as a discipline.
