Scott is Toledo’s oldest public high school, opening to students in 1913.

Robert Brundage has played cello in The Toledo Symphony while earning an Engineering BS, magna cum laude, at TU and working summers as a research chemist at the National Bureau of Standards in Washington, DC.  Active as a cellist in the Boston area, he first earned his PhD in Biophysics at Brandeis University, then worked at a series of biomedical companies.  Starting as a translator Engineer for three of them.  With his third career he recorded and edited live performances for Harvard University, MIT, New England Conservatory, Titanic Records, & WGBH, Boston.

For his fourth career, Robert retired to Toledo in 1997 to become a community builder.  He is on such boards as Toledo Central City Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation (in the neighborhood of his youth), Community Shares of Northwest Ohio (workplace philanthropy), Greater Toledo Housing Coalition, 433 Foundation (community strengthening through ecological and artistic means), Citizens for Buckeye Basin Parks, Toledo Urban Forestry Commission, Westgate Neighbors etc.  He also participates in several TMACOG (Metropolitan Area Council of Governments) committees, The New Urbanists, five mayoral community groups, The Urban Coalition, Parents for Public Schools, TPS groups, Multifaith Council of Northwest Ohio, Building Bridges Towards Racial Harmony, Sister Cities.

It is sad to lose our friend Dr. Robert Brundage, for the world a (true humanitarian).   I became aquainted with Robert Brundage for a period of time in 2008, when I was a resident artist at the Collingwood Art Center.  I accepted a commission that was initiated by Peter Van Schoek, a loved Poet Laureate of the Old West End in Toledo, a friend of Robert Brundage.  Robert and I had several meetings before and during this portrait commission.  It was apparent to me, he was graciously embued, a high spirit, such a giving person was Robert Brundage.  In the few conversations that we had he had expressed to me, how much he cared for our environment.  He earned a Doctorate as a scholar in important fields, Music and Science.  With his big heart he did excel, all to the benefit of humankind.  All of Toledo and friends from the globe, we must sadly accept an insurmountable loss, all of mankind must mourn this senseless untimely, sad violent death of Dr. Robert Brundage with forgiveness, for he had so much love and faith in all of us.

"A DOVE HAS FLOWN AWAY"

A.. WAY OF PEACE

A.. WAY OF GIVING

A..WAY OF LOVE

DR. ROBERT BRUNDAGE A FRIEND TO ALL WHO KNEW HIM.  HIS FAVORITE TREE, IT'S SEEDS, HE PICKED AND GAVE TO ME.  "THE GINKO BILOBA SEED, "PLACE IT IN YOUR MOUTH, LET IT DISSOLVE AND IMPART IT'S BENEFICIAL PROPERTIES, LEAST OF ALL IT'S MEMORY ENHANCEMENT".

ROBERT WAS A MENTOR, TEACHER FRIEND.

TO ALL OF US THAT LISTENED TO HIM,

HIS RESPONSIBLE, CHERISHMENT OF CREATION AND NATURE, HE GLADLY SHARED, IN SPACE, HEAVENS, EARTH, CONTINENTS, U.S.A.., TOLEDO, OHIO.

ROBERT BRUNDAGE HAD SUCH A UNIQUE UNFORGETTABLE PHYSICAL FORM.  GRACEFUL.  A FACE AS WISE AND HANDSOME AS A WIZARD OF HIS KELTIC LINEAGE, EYES SO HAPPY, WITTY AND SPARKLING WITH TRUTH AND KNOWLEDGE.  DR. ROBERT BRUNDAGE.
