It is very sad to lose our friend Dr. Robert Brundage, for this world a true humanitarian. I became aquainted with Robert Brundage for a period of time in 2008, when I was a resident artist at the Collingwood Art Center. I accepted a commission that was initiated by Peter Van Schoek, a loved Poet Laureate of the Old West End in Toledo. Peter was a dear friend of Robert Brundage. Robert and I had several meetings before and during this portrait commission. It was apparent to me, he was graciously embued, with a high spirit and such a giving person was Robert Brundage. In the few conversations we had, he did express to me, how passionately he cared for our environment evidenced by his scholarly knowledge. He earned a Doctorates in several important fields, Sociology, Music and Science. With intelligence and a big heart, he did excel, all to the benefit of humankind. All of Toledo and friends from the globe, we must sadly accept an insurmountable loss, all of mankind must mourn the senseless untimely, grievous, violent death of Dr. Robert Brundage with forgiveness, for he would have with so much love and faith in all of us.
